Estimate Canada Child Benefit Amount: Free, No Sign-up, Fast
The CCB Payment Calculator helps Canadian families estimate their monthly Canada Child Benefit (CCB) based on their household income, number of eligible children, and other important factors used by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Many families struggle to estimate their CCB payments accurately while planning their monthly budget. Keeping this in mind, we created this calculator to help you estimate your CCB payment quickly and easily. Our calculator provides a fast estimate in just a few clicks so you can better understand your potential benefit before receiving your official payment.
The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is a monthly, tax-free payment administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). It is available to eligible parents and guardians who are raising children under the age of 18. The program helps families manage the rising cost of living and inflation by providing financial assistance based on their family income and circumstances.
CCB payments are not considered taxable income and do not need to be reported as income on your tax return.
This calculator estimates your CCB payment using the same primary factors considered by the CRA, including:
After entering all the required information, the calculator instantly estimates both your monthly and annual Canada Child Benefit payments.
Using this CCB Payment Calculator is simple. Follow these steps to estimate your monthly and annual Canada Child Benefit amount.
Select the number of eligible children in your household who are under six years old. Children in this age group qualify for the highest maximum CCB payment.
Choose the number of eligible children between the ages of 6 and 17. The calculator will automatically count the total number of eligible children.
Enter your Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI) from your previous year's tax return. AFNI is one of the most important factors used by the CRA to calculate your Canada Child Benefit payment.
Adjusted Family Net Income incudes Your family net income (line 23600 of tax return + line 23600 of your spouse's tax return). Minus any Universal Child Care Benefit and Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) income received (line 11700 and line 12500) plus any UCCB and RDSP amounts repaid (line 21300 and line 23200).
What is included in AFNI for CCB calculation?
Generally, your family's net income is calculated using your and your spouse's (if applicable) total net income from Line 23600 of your income tax returns. It excludes any Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) and Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) payments received and adds back any UCCB or RDSP amounts that were repaid.
Choose your province or territory of residence so the calculator can estimate your CCB payment using the applicable regional information.
There is no need to click a Calculate button. The calculator automatically updates your estimated benefits as soon as you enter or modify your information.
Your results typically include:
You can update your family income, children's ages, or family size at any time to compare different payment scenarios and better plan your household finances.
Yes. The Canada Child Benefit is an income-tested benefit. For the July 2026 to June 2027 payment period, benefits are calculated using your 2025 Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI).
| Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI) | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Below $38,237 | Receive the maximum benefit for eligible children. |
| $38,237 – $82,847 | The benefit gradually decreases as family income increases. |
| Above $82,847 | Benefits continue to decrease according to CRA reduction rules. |
This gradual CCB reduction ensures that lower-income families receive greater financial assistance.
If parents share custody of a child, each eligible parent generally receives 50% of the amount they would receive under full custody. Each parent's payment is calculated separately based on their own Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI). The CRA determines eligibility based on custody arrangements and does not divide payments using custom percentages.
The Canada Revenue Agency reviews and recalculates Canada Child Benefit payments every July after processing income tax returns.
| Payment Period | Based on Income Year |
|---|---|
| July 2026 – June 2027 | 2025 Income |
| July 2025 – June 2026 | 2024 Income |
Any changes to your family income will normally affect your future benefit period rather than your current payments.
Yes. Families whose child qualifies for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) may also qualify for the Child Disability Benefit (CDB). The CRA automatically determines eligibility once your child has been approved for the Disability Tax Credit.

|---|---|---|---|
| July 2026 – June 2027 | Up to $3,480 per child | Up to $290 per child | Paid together with the monthly Canada Child Benefit. |

Benefit amounts may change every July when the CRA recalculates payments using the previous year's income and adjusts them for inflation.

| 4 or more children | $10,002 | 9.5% of income over $85,000 |
Maximum amount: $7,827
Income over $36,000: $45,000 - $36,000 = $9,000
Reduction (7%): $9,000 × 0.07 = $630.00
Annual payment: $7,827 - $630.00 = $7,197.00 ($599.75/month)
Maximum amount: $7,827 × 2 = $15,654
Income over $36,000: $60,000 - $36,000 = $24,000
Reduction (13.5%): $24,000 × 0.135 = $3,240.00
Annual payment: $15,654 - $3,240.00 = $12,414.00 ($1,034.50/month)
Maximum amount: $7,012 × 3 = $21,036
Income over $36,000: $50,000 - $36,000 = $14,000
Reduction (19%): $14,000 × 0.19 = $2,660.00
Annual payment: $21,036 - $2,660.00 = $18,376.00 ($1,531.33/month)
Maximum amount: $7,827
Income over $85,000: $100,000 - $85,000 = $15,000
Reduction: $3,257 + ($15,000 × 0.032) = $3,257 + $480.00 = $3,737.00
Annual payment: $7,827 - $3,737.00 = $4,090.00 ($340.83/month)
Maximum amount: $7,012 × 4 = $28,048
Income over $85,000: $200,000 - $85,000 = $115,000
Reduction: $10,002 + ($115,000 × 0.095) = $10,002 + $10,925.00 = $20,927.00
Annual payment: $28,048 - $20,927.00 = $7,121.00 ($593.42/month)
