How much is the Allowance in 2026?
For July to September 2026, the maximum monthly Allowance is $1,428.06. The combined annual income of the couple must be less than $42,144.
What is the Allowance for the Survivor?
The Allowance for the Survivor is a similar benefit for low-income individuals aged 60 to 64 whose spouse or common-law partner has died. The maximum for July–September 2026 is $1,702.34, with an income threshold of $30,696.
How is my combined income calculated?
Your combined income is your net income plus your spouse's net income from the previous year. This includes CPP, pensions, RRSP withdrawals, investment income, and employment income.
What income does NOT count toward the threshold?
